David was already a published author with his textbook Mathematics: A Simple Tool for Geologists, and was preparing to release his new popular science book, Lucky Planet. He needed a website that would promote the upcoming book, showcase his earlier work, and provide online resources to accompany the maths textbook.
We started with an image. A picture I had taken whilst working in the Rocky Mountains that, I felt, captured the twin topics of my book – life and climate. That was enough to provide a colour palette for my website and, from there, the site just seemed to come together very easily and naturally. I should admit that, initially, I had a very complex idea in my head of how the site should be structured and what content it should hold, but Jo very patiently worked with me until we had something much simpler, much more user-friendly and much more impactful. I was delighted with the result.
